Delegation of Work Safety Capacity Building from "Belt and Road" African French-speaking Countries Visits China Chemical Safety Association for Sharing and Exchange
On July 22, the delegation of work safety capacity building from "Belt and Road" African French-speaking Countries visited the China Chemical Safety Association (CCSA) for knowledge sharing and best practice exchange. Representatives from African countries such as the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Benin, the Comoros, Gabon, and Guinea held discussions and exchanges on concepts and best practices of safety management of chemical industry. Hao Jun, Vice Chairman of the CCSA, delivered welcoming remarks, and Cai Zhong, Director of the Foreign Affairs Service Department of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management, presided over the meeting.
During the discussion, both sides focused on topics such as chemical supply chain safety management, implementation of the occupational safety laws, regulations and standards, collaborative mechanisms for rescue and disposal for chemical accidents, chemical identification and classification, and the application of hazardous chemical risk assessment tools. Wang Da, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Association, systematically introduced the development status of China's chemical industry, focusing on sharing CCSA's work achievements and positive role in promoting the safe development of the industry, providing reference perspectives for the participants. The participants put forward questions based on their own practice, and the experts of CCSA responded one by one. The on-site interaction was frequent and enthusiastic.
The workshop participants also browsed the English website of the Association, showing a strong interest in China's chemical safety-related laws and standards, and hoped to obtain English or French versions of the materials for their subsequent study and work.
This meeting is an important practice of the China Chemical Safety Association in actively responding to the initiative of building the "Belt and Road" and promoting non-governmental international exchanges. It has made positive efforts to spread the concepts and management models of safe development in China's chemical industry to African countries.
