The China Chemical Safety Association (CCSA) is AAAAA -level Social Association and National Advanced Social Organization. Founded in 1993, CCSA was formerly known as China Chemical Safety and Hygiene Technology Association. There are currently 719 member companies, including China Petrochemical Corporation, China National Petroleum Corporation, China Ocean Petroleum Group Co., Ltd., Sinochem Group Co., Ltd., China National Chemical Engineering Group Co., Ltd., CHN Energy and other large oil and chemical companies, as well as backbone enterprises in industries such as chloral-alkali, fertilizer and fine chemical industry. The Executive Director-General of CCSA is rotated by those in charge of large chemical enterprises under the control of the central government and the current Executive Director-General is from China Petrochemical Corporation.

Over the years, CCSA has been following the principle of “serving the country, society, the public and the industry” as a national industry association. Committed to ensuring work safety in hazardous chemicals and adhering to the glorious mission of “Transforming Chemistry for Safer and Better Living”, CCSA has established a chemical safety expert pool covering six professional fields including safety management, process, equipment, electrical instrumentation, emergency response and design, with more than 8,000 experts providing services around the country. In recent years, an average of 260 experts have served in the front line of work safety in enterprises every day, providing safety consulting services for 10,000 hazardous chemical enterprises and accumulating a large amount of first-hand data and information on risks and hidden dangers.

 The association has set up the Nitrification Sub-committee and a Specialized Committee for Safety Risk Assessment in Fine Chemical Reaction to strengthen safe production management in enterprises and enhance intrinsic safety. The secretariat of the Chemical Safety Sub-Technical Committee of the National Technical Committee for Work Safety Standardization is set in the association, which is mainly responsible for researching the chemical safety standard system, proposing the formulation and revision of standards and organizing the publicity of the standards formulation and revision under the purview of the association. The office of Expert Guidance Service Coordination Group of Key Counties of Hazardous Chemicals is set in CCSA, which is responsible for planning, coordinating and organizing the expert guidance service.

The team of experts is known as “the national team of technical service in chemical safety”.
