Lu Nianming Meets with BV Leadership
On July 15, Lu Nianming, Executive Deputy Chairman of the China Chemical Safety Association(CCSA), met with Joerg Gmeinbauer, Senior Vice President of Bureau Veritas (BV). They exchanged views on the safety assessment, certification management, and education & training of chemical enterprises.
Lu Nianming pointed out that with the continuous emergence of new products, new processes, and new materials in the chemical industry, safety risks are also increasing. New chemical reactions may produce unknown by-products, and the chemical properties of new materials may differ from traditional materials, all of which can lead to new safety issues. This symposium has built a good communication platform for both sides. It is hoped that BV, with its rich experience in global industrial compliance assessment, testing and certification, and education & training, will provide more scientific and precise services for Chinese chemical enterprises in combination with their actual situation.
Joerg Gmeinbauer introduced that BV has conducted assessment of aging facilities and remaining service life for several international large-scale petrochemical enterprises, and has developed scientific and rational maintenance plans and provided simulation training services to ensure the long-term stable operation of enterprises, achieving both economic and safety benefits.
Udomdej Kongtaveelert, President of BV Greater China, said that the company has rich experience and strong professionalism in the global certification system. Its advanced certification philosophy and strict standard procedures can provide international certification services for the product and system construction of chemical enterprises, helping Chinese chemical enterprises to enhance the safety, reliability, and international competitiveness of their products.
Participants in the meeting consist of the heads of the Public and Chemical Departments of BV Greater China, and Wang Da, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Association, and relevant departments.
