On July 1st, "Belt and Road" countries’ delegation of the capacity-building workshop on safety and sustainable development visited the China Chemical Safety Association. Representatives from countries including Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan gathered together to engage in a dialogue on the safety in chemical production and sustainable development. Ma Xinni, the Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Association, delivered a welcome speech, and Cai Zhong, the Director of the Foreign Affairs Service Division of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Emergency Management, presided over the meeting.
During the discussion, Wang Da, the Deputy Chief Engineer of the CCSA, systematically introduced the current development status of China's chemical industry and the main work of the Association, focusing on the association's experience in participating in the formulation and revision of chemical safety regulations and standards, as well as chemical safety services. The delegates of the workshop focused on hot topics such as China's safety supervision policies for chemical construction projects, the application of HAZOP tools, the regulatory system for toxic chemicals, and the treatment and resource utilization of metallurgical and chemical waste. They engaged in exchanges and discussions in combination with the industry practices of their own countries. With face-to-face and engaging on-site interaction, representatives from Central Asian countries sparked ideas on industry policies, technological applications, and management models. They not only gained an understanding of China's institutional design and innovative practices in chemical safety management, but also provided a diverse perspective for China-Central Asia sustainable development cooperation.
This exchange visit is an important practice of the China Chemical Safety Association actively responding to the national "Belt and Road" initiative and promoting international exchanges among non-governmental industry associations. By building a cross-border communication platform, the association has not only showcased China's mature experience in the safe development of the chemical industry to Central Asian countries, but also promoted the mutual learning and integration of safety management standards and technologies between China and foreign countries, injecting new energy into building a new pattern of international cooperation for the sustainable development of chemical safety.
