Lu Nianming Met with BASF Group Senior Vice President Jan Peter Bredehöft

On May 28, during the 2025 China International Chemical Process Safety Conference, Lu Nianming, Executive Vice Chairman of the China Chemical Safety Association, met with Jan Peter Bredehöft, Senior Vice President of the German BASF Group, and his delegation. The two sides exchanged views on jointly promoting the high-quality development of the chemical industry in terms of safety by Chinese and foreign counterparts.

Lu Nianming said that the China Chemical Safety Association is willing to work together with domestic and international counterparts to promote the wider application of process safety concepts in chemical enterprises and to enhance the communication and dissemination of relevant standards and regulations.

Bredehöft introduced BASF Group's risk-based safety management philosophy and practices, especially its experience in researching the hazardous properties of chemicals and preventing uncontrolled chemical reactions. He also shared the company's best practices in ensuring equipment reliability through full life cycle process safety management.

Cheng Changjin, Chief Engineer of the China Chemical Safety Association, participated in the meeting. Heads of relevant departments including the Department of Regulations and Standards, the General Office, and the Membership Liaison Department also took part in the exchange.
