The China session of the 21st Global Process Safety Conference was held in Dallas, USA on April 8, which was jointly organized by the China Chemical Safety Association (CCSA) and China University of Petroleum (East China). The session, focusing on the development of process safety in China, international cutting-edge theories and excellent practices, attracted many domestic and international professionals in related fields. Hao Jun and Qiao Fajie, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association, led the delegation to attend the conference.
During the meeting, Li Yan, a senior expert of the CCSA, shared the process safety assessment system developed by the association. Based on the analysis of typical accidents in the chemical industry and the process safety assessment experience of excellent companies in the industry, the system compiles an evaluation program containing 152 assessment items. It can quantitatively evaluate the management status of the four major risk sources, including the foundation of company safety management, loopholes in risk identification, operator errors, and equipment failures, so as to systematically assess the current status of company process safety management and put forward accurate and effective suggestions for enhancing safety management.
During the meeting, the association and the Eastman company from the US exchanged cutting-edge theories and practical experience in global process safety.
